Leighton, Brothers', Chromatic Process. John Norris states in his poultry book
bibliography "This was the first elaborate book published on poultry in the
English language. There are 22 colored plates listed, however the Buff Polish
and Ptarmigan chickens are on one plate and one of the White Crested Black
Polish added. The Rouen and Black East Indian are on one plate. Therefore, all
plates called for are present...." Original cloth covers with the title in
guilt on the spine. Marbled boards and edges.
Sporadic foxing to some of the plates. A very nice copy of an older poultry book
in good condition. This work has special emphasis on the recently introduced
Cochins and Shanghaes.
