Antique Prints from Paxton
As a botanical artist and
illustrious English horticulturist,
Joseph Paxton produced The Magazine of Botany, and Register of Flowering Plants.
This series of magazines was published in London 1834-1849.The
magazine contained descriptions of flowering plants, as well as advice for the
gardener. Each print is hand colored, and treated with an egg white wash
to preserve the color. The prints listed for sale here are from Volume 7
of the Magazine, published in 1840. Please click on the thumbnail image for details. These web images are electronically watermarked, the antique prints themselves are not.
