"THE MORAL OF FLOWERS" is an enchanting botanical/art/ Victorian
period piece - 1835 London. Rebecca Hey authored this very rare book. She also
was the author of " THE SPIRIT OF THE WOODS " (Images also available
on CD). The deep rich hues and shade of green of the hand coloured plates are
strikingly exquisite. The engravings, which were made from nature expressly for
this work, are the production of William Clark, formerly draughtsman and
engraver to the London Horticultural Society. This work represents a true labor
of love by a lady who discovered the moral of flowers 175 years ago.
This CD contains the entire collection of original
images as well as a set which has been digitally enhanced in the transfer to CD
as in the scan below. These
web images are electronically watermarked, the CD images are not.
