This CD disc presents 41 high resolution digital BMP images of Rare Bromeliads from the 1871 - 1884 Volumes of LA BELGIQUE HORTICOLE . These images can be imported to Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Adobe Illustrator, Paint Shop Pro, Adobe Photo Delux, Print Master and other popular painting and drawing programs and printed on quality inkjet paper producing stunning results suitable for framing. Or for designing your own greeting cards, posters, brochures and calendars.
The originals range in size from 6¼" x 9½" to 9½" x 16½", and have not been reduced in size. Offered here is this beautiful collection of botanicals, which were produced from the original prints. The bright vivid colors are retained in the transfer to CD format. Many of these prints are triple and double foldouts. Both the original scans and final prints in which the fold creases have been edited out are contained on the CD.
During the 19th century Belgium became the center of flower and fruit cultivation on the European continent and a number of important publications were produced. LA BELGIQUE HORTICOLE began publication in 1851 and captured beautifully colored botanical chromolithographs. Ghent (Gand) was the center of Horticulture and market gardening. It is one of Belgium's oldest cities and the historic capital of Flanders. This beautiful botanical offered here was lithographed in Ghent Belgium also known as "The City of Flowers"
